Damn!!!! It rocks!!! I will buy a Pandora because i need all of Beagle Board on a portable package. I have a nice EEE but it is not good at playing (because of the dust near my house: it kills out the system at gaming and screws up heat dissipation). I will buy the pandora just for fun. I have a lot of time since i don't have a console.

I am a big fan of portable media since I bought my first cd player as a kid. I have always imagine using something like this, and the OMAP cpu is amazing technology, and opengl2, all this is finally making my dream reality. I'm really excited about the beagleboard and the pandora console. Personally I don't invest in labtop, portable and practical is what I need. It's a no brainer when you have this solution vs a. x86 UMPC such OQO2 that cost almost $2000 dollars and only 2-3hrs of battery life.

I've run several J2SE applications on Beagle now using JamVM and GNU Classpath. Other JVMs are also on the way.

it all comes down to some people don't need a desktop, some dont even need a laptop. All they need is someway to do email, word, & pim. could you imagine every person owning one of these in 10 years instead of laptops? It's really a shame that there are laptops out there with bigger screens than most desktops. When gamers flooded the tech market the big corps like dell & hp jumped onboard & thinned the consumer pool out. Thats why you have 15 different types of cpu now. I think this is great

You make an excellent point. But imagine how much more powerful that small computer would be if it was bigger. Wouldn't that make it a more powerful yet slightly bigger computer? If an Atom processor is fast, imagine combing atoms. It freaking blows my mind.

This isn't about making a big computer small; it's about making a powerful small computer. This processor is going in to the next generation of phones & the 3D graphics are better than most embedded video cards in PCs. It's the same graphics used in the upcoming Atom processors.
