yeah. socialism is a compromise partly used by almost every country on the planet. If you go to either extreme, it fails. The US went the capitalism route too strong and for too long. Now, we can learn from their experience how capitalism can also fail.

Capitalism can become communism if there are enough monopolies merge. The problems with communism is not only people being greedy, lazy, or "depraved". It is also that any social system is too complicated for just a few people to control so completely. Everyone should vote for themselves and live free enough to work for the things he or she wants because it is really anyone's guess who or how things should be done. Capitalism controlled by a few monopolies would fail for similar reasons.
